Inside Singletree – Sponsor Spotlight – May edition -2021

April 15th, 2021

I have lived in the Vail Valley 26 years and transitioned from my career in the hospitality industry to become a local business owner with one goal – to provide you with expert cleaning services year-round. I have 20+ years of experience as a human resource expert which has provided me with the skills to balance the needs my business, it’s customers and our highly valued employees.

In just a few short years we have become one of the Vail Valley’s premiere residential and commercial cleaning companies now serving more than 650 clients and helping to support the families of more than 35 local employees. Many of Sweeping Change’s cleaners have been on staff since day one. Their longevity and diverse knowledge have been invaluable to the company’s growth, as well as the unique services we are able to offer our clients.

We have many discerning clients with highly valuable items that have very specific cleaning and maintenance requirements.  Not only do they appreciate that we have done our homework on how to care for them, but they also admire that we send the same staff members to serve them on an ongoing basis. We would not be able to serve these customers in the detailed manner that we do with a constantly fluctuating staff.

In addition to cleaning dozens of private homes and working with homeowners who rent their properties through VRBO, Airbnb and other vacation services and numerous property management companies throughout the Valley, Sweeping Change serves well-known Valley business including Country Club of the Rockies, the Sonnenalp, Slifer, Smith and Frampton, Sotheby’s, Keller Williams, Alpine Bank, Gerald Ford Amphitheater, Ski and Snowboard Club, Mtech, Vail Interfaith Chapel and various pre-schools, restaurants and more.

Sweeping Change runs teams on both day and night shifts.  In addition to our full and part time local staff, Sweeping Change hires additional seasonal help from Mexico via the H2B Visa program and is working on acquiring permanent residency for several staff members. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured and offers residential, rental property, construction and commercial cleaning services across the Valley from East Vail to Gypsum.

We are using cleaning and disinfecting materials recommended by the CDC and we are dedicated to doing our part in reducing the spread COVID.  We want people to gather and feel comfortable and safe.  Each one of my staff members including myself has received COVID vaccinations as we believe in doing our part, particularly in a cleaning industry to keep our clients and employees healthy and safe.  In addition, Sweeping Change has been proactive in training our staff in protocols and standards.  Sweeping Change participated and was certified in the 2020 CIRI Science Symposium on COVID-19 and pandemic preparedness.  This information was presented by the Cleaning Industry Research Institute.  Topics included Risk Assessment, effective disinfection, effective training strategies for our frontline workers, and preparation for the future.  While none of us certainly have all the answers we are staying on top of information as rapidly as it is coming out to keep our clients and our staff safe in these challenging times.  Sweeping Change participated in a week long webinar specifically designed for the cleaning and restoration industry.  This virtual seminar provided by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council focused on responding to and recovering from biohazards in the workplace.  Frontline cleaning workers are essential first responders to the coronavirus and other infectious agents and it is our goal to ensure they are professionally trained and applying understanding of best practices to protect themselves, each of you and the facilities we serve. We are proud of the role we have played in safety and health in this past year.

I am grateful to my family that has been so supportive through this journey.  My kids and parents have been part of the process since day one when needed.  My parents have helped with cleaning and transportation as has my son and daughter.  My son has assisted in cleaning the amphitheater with me on many occasions and all the family has helped me with laundry or running supplies to teams or the little crazy needs that arise in this demanding environment.   What started as a small adventure has turned into over 700 clients and a business, I am extremely proud of.  My kids have leaned invaluable lessons being part of this journey.  I am grateful to my staff of 35, my clients who continue to support us and my family that is the best I could ask for!
